The hotel
A ranch from 1856.
Judge Edward Stanly founded the ranch in 1856, and it has been part of Napa's wine history since. It covers 712 acres of vineyards, eucalyptus and walking trails on the southern edge of the valley, with two and a half miles of frontage on the Napa River. Downtown Napa is about ten minutes away by car, Sonoma about twenty and the Bay Area about forty-five, by the resort's own count.
Auberge opened the resort in April 2022. The 135 rooms are stand-alone cottages and suites, from Arbor Cottages and Acre and Rambler houses to the three-bedroom Palomino House, which sleeps eight. Each has a living area, a private terrace and an outdoor shower. Villas and Vineyard Homes on the ranch were sold to private owners. The spa spreads across four buildings of its own, and the Glasshouse Barn holds up to three hundred guests for events.

Flying to Napa.
San Francisco International is about an hour away by car, our estimate, traffic permitting. Private jets can land at Napa County Airport, about 10 minutes from the ranch by our estimate; there is no customs there, so flights from abroad clear first at an airport of entry such as San Francisco or Oakland.
