The hotel

A hundred years on Cocoanut Row.

The building opened on 8 February 1926 as the Lido Venice, a three-storey Mediterranean Revival hotel, and took the name Vineta a few winters later. It kept it for more than fifty years. Then came the Palm Court in the 1980s and The Chesterfield from 1989, and in 1986 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It closed in 2022.

David and Simon Reuben bought it in 2022 and handed it to Oetker Hotels, owners of the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Three years of work cut the rooms from 53 to 41, and Tino Zervudachi designed the interiors. The Vineta reopened under its old name in March 2026, Oetker's first hotel in the United States, and entered the MICHELIN Guide with two Keys that September.

  • Coco The restaurant in the courtyard, Mediterranean, with dishes developed alongside the kitchen of the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc.
  • The pool Laid in bespoke mosaic, with a shell-shaped ladder, pool beds and the original green colours of the old hotel.
  • Around the island Bicycles are free, and electric Mokes can be hired for the run down to the beach or Worth Avenue.
