The hotel

A painted hotel on the hill.

La Suite Villa was created by Gilles Duplan, a former computer engineer, on the hill that rises behind Pointe du Bout. He filled it with colour. His friend, the Cuban painter Ricardo Ponce, covered a large wall with a mural, painted the plates in the restaurant and even decorated the kitchen appliances in the villas. Local painters and sculptors still show their work here.

Patrick Fournet took over the hotel in 2019 and runs it with Hélène Fournet. The six suites sit on the upper floors of the main house, with their beds raised to see the water. The nine villas are spread through the garden below. Anse Mitan beach is a short walk down the hill, and the marina at Pointe du Bout about a kilometre away.

  • A Jacuzzi on every terrace Each suite and villa has its own Jacuzzi or heated barrel bath outdoors, most with a view of the sea.
  • Le Zandoli The gastronomic restaurant, for years one of the best known tables on the island, and open to outside guests.
  • Art on the walls Local painters and sculptors show their work at the hotel, and a small studio lets guests paint their own.
