The hotel
A crown on Boyalık Bay.
Reges opened in 2019 as the third Luxury Collection hotel in Turkey, after Bodrum and Ankara. It is owned by Reges Turizm İnşaat. The name comes from the Latin for king, and from the air its two buildings make the shape of a crown, stretched along about two kilometres of Boyalık Bay. The resort curves around a natural cove, and Marriott counts more than 300 days of sunshine a year on this coast.
The tiers of the building were drawn from the turning skirt of a whirling dervish. In the lobby, gilded seams borrow the Japanese idea of kintsugi. Rooms are done in neutral tones with gold leaves, peacock motifs and turquoise, and the bathrooms are lined with local marble. The kitchens use herbs from the garden and the mastic that grows on this peninsula.
- Spa Reges About 1,400 square metres, with a Turkish hammam, sauna, steam room and treatments built on local rituals.
- Beach and thermal pools A private beach with cabanas, and two pools filled with seawater thermal water.
- Wind on the bay The Çeşme coast is known for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and guests can take lessons through the resort.
