The hotel

Ottoman Istanbul, rebuilt on the beach.

Mardan Palace opened in May 2009 with a party for some six hundred guests, Mariah Carey and Tom Jones among the performers. Telman Ismailov built it, for a reported 1.4 billion dollars, on 180,000 square metres at Kundu. The architect Hasan Sökmen drew on Istanbul: the main building follows the Dolmabahçe Palace, and 9,000 tonnes of sand came from Egypt for the beach.

The pool was billed at the opening as the largest on the Mediterranean, crossed by gondolas. After its founder's bankruptcy, Halkbank took the hotel in 2015 and later leased it to Titanic Hotels. In 2026 Swandor Hotels & Resorts took over the running of it, keeping the name, and planned a wider renovation for the winter of 2026 to 2027.

  • The pool Billed at the opening as the largest on the Mediterranean, with bridges and gondolas across it.
  • Ballrooms About 5,448 square metres of event space, with the Dolmabahçe, Beylerbeyi and Ottoman ballrooms and a Grand Foyer of 880 square metres.
  • Aquamarine The signature seafood restaurant, served palace style.
