The hotel
Ian Schrager on the Aegean.
Ian Schrager and Marriott opened The Bodrum EDITION in the summer of 2018 on the west side of the peninsula, close to Yalıkavak Marina. The resort takes up about 22,000 square metres of a cove sheltered from the wind, planted with native olive trees and built in local stone, with wood, marble and pale fabrics inside. Schrager handled the concept and the creative direction, and the site holds a ballroom and meeting studios as well.
The buildings step down the slope to an infinity pool that seems to end in the sea, and below it a white beach of about a hundred metres with a jetty. At opening there were 102 rooms, pool bungalows, two suites with plunge pools and one villa. Boats from the marina reach the nearest Greek islands in under an hour.

Milas-Bodrum Airport handles scheduled flights and private jets, which use its CIP and general aviation terminal. Yalıkavak is on the far side of the peninsula, about 55 kilometres away, so allow roughly an hour by car, our estimate.
