The hotel
Stone, gardens and the western shore.
Çağdaş Holding built the resort on the waterfront at Turgutreis, about twenty kilometres west of Bodrum town, and opened it under the Swissôtel name in the summer of 2015. The Istanbul architect Gökhan Avcıoğlu drew it in long curving lines, with stone façades and gardens growing up the walls, so the buildings sit low against the hill behind. A private beach runs along the front of the resort.
The plan joins a two-storey hotel of rooms and suites to a set of villas and duplex residences. Inside, Irmak Çağlar of Çağdaş Design Works kept the palette light. Turgutreis faces west across open water, so the sun goes down over the sea, and the Greek islands lie off the coast. The Pürovel spa and sports area covers more than 1,700 square metres.

- Out of season Some outlets close in autumn. Guests in late September and early October found the café shut and the beach bar serving only hot drinks.

Milas-Bodrum Airport takes scheduled flights and private jets, which use its CIP and general aviation terminal. Turgutreis lies at the far western end of the peninsula, about 60 kilometres from the airport by road, so allow roughly an hour by car, our estimate.
