The hotel
Ultima becomes Fouquet's.
The hotel opened at the start of the 2016 to 2017 winter as Ultima Gstaad: ten suites and seven residences in three large wooden chalets, a short walk from the village centre, with a butler on call around the clock. It was one of the Ultima group's flagship hotels, and in September 2026 it held one MICHELIN Key under that name. The address on Gsteigstrasse stays the same.
Ultima and Barrière have since agreed a partnership, and the chalets reopen on 4 December 2026 as Hôtel Fouquet's Gstaad, the sixth Fouquet's after Paris, New York, Courchevel, Saint-Barth and Mykonos. The wood, the fireplaces and the balconies facing the peaks remain. Contemporary art from a private collection hangs throughout, a Zuma pop-up takes over the kitchen, and the spa now runs to more than 800 square metres with Augustinus Bader treatments.
- Zuma for the season A pop-up of the Japanese restaurant, with an open kitchen for sushi, sashimi, wagyu and robata grill, a bar and a heated terrace.
- The spa More than 800 square metres around a 15-metre indoor pool, with a hammam, saunas, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a snow shower and Augustinus Bader treatments.
- A chalet of its own A separate four-storey chalet in the village sleeps up to twenty in nine bedrooms, with a cinema, a nightclub, a games room, a spa and a chef.
