The hotel

A newcomer among the Big Four.

Gstaad has long been a town of grand five-star hotels. The Mansard opened in December 2024 as a smaller, younger alternative, the third hotel of Miiro after Le Grand Hôtel Cayré in Paris and Borneta in Barcelona. Swiss craftsmen built it in larch and parquet, and the walls carry old photographs of the village by the Gstaad photographer Jacques Naegeli.

It stands on the promenade in the middle of the village, with 29 rooms and suites, almost all with a balcony facing the mountains. The roof holds the only rooftop restaurant and bar in Gstaad. Downstairs, chef Tom Walter runs a brasserie that buys from farmers and cheesemakers in the Bernese Oberland, and a wood-panelled bar keeps a fire going. In 2026, after barely two seasons, the MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel a Key.

  • On the roof The Mansard Rooftop looks across the valley from the top of the building and stays open in winter and summer.
  • The brasserie Tom Walter, who trained under Tanja Grandits at Stucki in Basel, cooks with farmers and cheesemakers from the Bernese Oberland.
  • Refresh Room Showers and changing rooms for guests who arrive before check-in or leave after check-out, useful on a ski day or a late flight.

Rooms & suites

Balconies over the village.

Twenty-seven of the 29 rooms have a sheltered balcony. Interiors use natural materials, and the toiletries are by Le Labo.

  • Rooms Twin, Classic and Deluxe Mountain or village views, most with a private balcony.
  • Suites Junior Suite and The Mansard Suite The Junior Suite adds a separate living area. The Mansard Suite sits in the tower, with a workspace, a steam room and a soaking bathtub.
