The hotel
A stazzo in the granite.
Petra Segreta means secret stone. The resort grew from an old Gallurese stazzo, a farmstead in the granite hills above San Pantaleo, some ten kilometres inland from the Costa Smeralda. It belongs to the architect Rosella Marchese and Luigi Bergeretto. The stonework is left rough, and the rooms sit in small houses among the boulders, each with its own veranda or patio.
The spa follows the rock. Treatments take place in a Balinese hut wedged between two granite monoliths. For 2026 six sea-view rooms were renovated with heated plunge pools and chestnut beams, and the cellar at Il Fuoco Sacro now fills an old stone wall with more than eight hundred labels, many of them Sardinian. The resort is a member of Relais & Châteaux.
- Il Fuoco Sacro One MICHELIN star in the 2026 Italian guide, with herbs and vegetables from the estate garden and honey from its hives.
- Secret Stone Spa Sardinian botanicals, treatments among the rocks and a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi with far-reaching views.
- The wine wall More than 800 labels built into an original stone wall, including indigenous Sardinian grapes.
