The hotel
One of the first big hotels on the coast.

It stands on the seafront at the town end of the Golden Mile, about three kilometres from the old town, with tropical gardens between the building and the sand.
The architect Álvaro Sans rebuilt the façade and terraces and redid every room in 2003, adding presidential suites on the top floor. Today it belongs to Meliá's Gran Meliá collection. The penthouse was the first anywhere fitted out with Moët & Chandon, and in 2025 China Crown opened its first restaurant outside Madrid here.
