The hotel
Seawater on the Estepona shore.
Hoteles Elba, a group with roots in A Coruña, opened the hotel in June 2004 after an investment of 49 million euros. It stands right on the beach about three kilometres from the centre of Estepona, on the old N-340 coast road west of Marbella. Most of its 137 Double Deluxe rooms look out over the Mediterranean from a balcony or terrace.
The hotel was built around its thalassotherapy centre, which covers more than 1,400 square metres, with three pools of heated seawater drawn from the Mediterranean, a jacuzzi, a sauna, an igloo and a circuit of showers. Outside lie the gardens, an adults' pool and a children's pool, and the first golf courses are three kilometres away. Indoors, a pool heated in winter has a bar with two terraces beside it.

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is 80 kilometres away by the hotel's figure, about an hour by car along the coast motorway by our estimate. Private jets also use Málaga, which has its own general aviation terminal.
