The hotel
Rotana on Saadiyat Beach.
Saadiyat Rotana opened in March 2018 on Saadiyat Beach, nine kilometres of white sand on the island off the city's northern shore. The restaurants came in two phases, the grill and the all-day dining room first, the Italian, the gastropub and the beach bar after. That same year it was named the World's Leading New Resort & Villas at the World Travel Awards.
Thirteen villas sit right on the beach, each with its own pool, beside 327 rooms and suites with views of the sea or the gardens. Saadiyat's museums are close: the Louvre Abu Dhabi and teamLab Phenomena are each three kilometres away, and the centre of Abu Dhabi about ten, a drive of fifteen minutes. Yas Island, with Ferrari World and Yas Marina Circuit, is about fifteen minutes the other way.
