The hotel
Pearls and souk cloth on Al Maryah Island.
The hotel opened in May 2016 in a 34-storey glass tower by PLP Architecture, beside Abu Dhabi Global Market and linked inside to The Galleria. Its vertical lines take their cue from the striped fabrics of the souk, and the glass throws back about eighty per cent of the sun. The hotel rooms fill floors 4 to 13; residences take the floors above.
Inside, white marble and pearly finishes recall the pearl divers of the Gulf. More than two thousand works of art hang through the building, and in the lobby seven columns stand for the seven emirates. Richmond International and HBA designed the interiors, with Tihany Design and AvroKO on some of the restaurants. The MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel a Key in 2025 and kept it in 2026.
- Over the water Most rooms look over the water, and the pool, heated to 28 °C, is up on the roof.

- For children Kids For All Seasons for ages four to twelve, free, and a teen club up to eighteen.
