The hotel
Paris, seen from Brera.
Palazzo Parigi opened in 2013, an independent hotel designed and still run by its owner, the architect Paola Giambelli. She named it after Paris and set out to mix that city's manners with Milanese restraint. The interiors are by Pierre-Yves Rochon. Guests choose between two moods: rooms in a sober contemporary Milanese style, or more ornate Parisian ones, both usually with a balcony or terrace.
The building stands on Corso di Porta Nuova, where Brera meets the Porta Nuova business district, a walk of ten to fifteen minutes from Via Montenapoleone. Rooms fill seven of its ten levels. From the sixth floor up they look over the inner courtyard, and the top suites face the spires of the Duomo. Behind the hotel lies a private garden of the eighteenth century, with old trees.
- The Grand Spa About 1,700 square metres in a Moroccan style, with a pool, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, an icefall and a hammam suite in pink marble.
- The garden A private garden of the eighteenth century, used for coffee, cocktails, light meals and the occasional private dinner.
- The Duomo from the top The highest suites have terraces over the rooftops, and the Duomo Panoramic Suite is arranged around the view of the cathedral spires.
