The hotel
Four palazzi behind La Scala.
Mandarin Oriental came to Milan in 2015, on Via Andegari between Brera and La Scala. Four eighteenth-century buildings, a few streets from the opera house, were restored and joined around two inner courtyards. The Milanese studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel designed the hotel and its interiors. It has 68 rooms and 36 suites, 104 in all.
The hotel turned ten in 2025. Seta, its restaurant, holds two MICHELIN stars under Antonio Guida, and the Mandarin Bar & Bistrot is a Milan address for aperitivo. Palazzo Citterio, the new wing of the Pinacoteca di Brera, opened about ten minutes away on foot, and the hotel can arrange private visits after hours. It can also book an evening viewing of the Last Supper at Santa Maria delle Grazie.
- Seta by Antonio Guida Two MICHELIN stars in the 2026 guide, with contemporary Italian cooking by the executive chef Antonio Guida.
- The Spa Nine hundred square metres with six treatment rooms, among them two for couples and a Spa Suite, plus an indoor pool, a hair salon and a beauty parlour.
- Brera after hours Private evening visits to Palazzo Citterio, the Pinacoteca di Brera's new home for modern Italian art, from Morandi to Fontana.
