The hotel
A convent in the fashion district.
The building began as a convent in the fifteenth century, on what is now Via Gesù, a pedestrian street between Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga. Its Renaissance cloister survives at the centre, planted as a garden, and inside are frescoes, columns and vaulted ceilings. The lobby keeps an eighteenth-century fireplace, and the bar sits in the old convent church.
Four Seasons opened the restored building as a hotel in April 1993, with 118 rooms and suites over five floors. Patricia Urquiola designed the spa in 2012, with a lap pool under a brick vault. In 2025 Pierre-Yves Rochon renovated every room and suite. Some suites still have their original frescoes, and many rooms look into the garden of the cloister. Zelo, the restaurant, serves from breakfast to dinner.
- The cloister A fifteenth-century cloister, landscaped as a garden, with Bar Stilla serving aperitivo there from 5 to 9 pm.
- The spa Designed by Patricia Urquiola, with seven treatment rooms, a hair salon, a gym and a 14-metre indoor pool under an arched brick ceiling.
- Via Gesù A pedestrian street in the Quadrilatero, with the shops of Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga at either end.
