The hotel
Rationalism, two minutes from La Scala.
Pietro Lingeri, one of the architects of Italian Rationalism, designed the building in the 1950s on Piazzetta Bossi, a small square behind Teatro alla Scala at the edge of Brera. The building was restored in full. Inside, the designer Patricia Urquiola redrew every room, suite and public space, down to a blue semicircular sofa in the Brera Suite. There are 116 rooms and suites in all.
The hotel opened in the autumn of 2024 and joined Marriott's Luxury Collection in February 2025. A year and a half later, in the 2026 selection, the MICHELIN Guide gave it its first Key. The top floor became Etereo, a restaurant and bar around an outdoor pool, looking over the rooftops of the old centre. Nusr-Et now runs the steakhouse and the all-day Living lounge.
- Etereo The eighth-floor roof, with an outdoor pool, a terrace with sunbeds, and a restaurant and sky bar that look over the city on every side.
- By La Scala The opera house is about two minutes on foot, with Brera and the fashion streets close by.
- Suites with terraces The Brera Suite has a furnished terrace of 121 square metres, and every junior suite a balcony or terrace.
