The hotel
Where the Bvlgari hotels began.
Bvlgari opened its first hotel here on 18 May 2004. The site lies at the end of Via Privata Fratelli Gabba, a private street between Brera and the fashion district, and part of the building was once an eighteenth-century convent. In 1813 the house and its grounds passed to the Lucini Passalacqua family. Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel designed the hotel in teak, oak, travertine and linen.
The garden behind it covers about 4,000 square metres, laid out by the Swiss landscape architect Sophie Agata Ambroise, and the bar and restaurant open onto it. In September 2026 the restaurant reopened as Da Niko, with Niko Romito's contemporary Italian cooking and a glass wall facing the trees. The spa takes a whole floor of about 1,000 square metres, and the Botanical Garden of Brera lies next door.
- The garden About 4,000 square metres beside the Botanical Garden of Brera, with a gazebo behind a hedge of red beech for private lunches and dinners, and cocktails outside in summer.
- Bvlgari Spa A floor of about 1,000 square metres with six treatment rooms and a pool lined in gold mosaic. Under-16s are not admitted.
- Il Bvlgari Bar Cocktails and afternoon tea, with tables outside on the garden and a cigar room.
