The hotel
A farm between the river and the mountains.
The hotel opened in June 2012 as Hôtel La Ferme, part of the Le Massif de Charlevoix project, which tied a ski mountain, a hotel and a railway together. Its 145 rooms and lofts went into five pavilions built on old farmland, between the Charlevoix mountains, the St. Lawrence and the town of Baie-Saint-Paul. The design takes its cue from barns and sheds, with modern interiors.
Groupe Germain took over the management in 2015 and gave the hotel its present name. The farm never went away. An 8,000 square metre garden grows about 7,525 kilograms of fruit and vegetables a year for the kitchen, Highland cattle graze the grounds and a farmers' market runs in summer. The MICHELIN Guide gave it a Key in 2024 and has kept it there since.
- A station at the door The Train de Charlevoix stops at the hotel's own station, and in winter it runs to the slopes of Le Massif.
- From the garden Most of what the chef needs comes from the hotel's garden, and both restaurants are certified by Aliments du Québec.
- Spa Nordique Le Germain A Nordic spa with hot tubs, a sauna and steam rooms, and an outdoor pool open in season.
