The hotel
A townhouse in the Georgian Quarter.
The Pery Square Tontine Company built a terrace of six houses here around 1830, and No. 1 is one of them. It is a protected building, inside and out. Inside are marble hearths, gilt mirrors and tall sash windows over People's Park. Behind the house lie a kitchen garden and a terrace, and the centre of Limerick is five minutes away on foot.
Patricia Roberts bought the house in 2006 and restored it, putting back the original details. The four period rooms carry the names of people who lived here: Vanderkiste, Lord and Lady Barrington, and Pery. Down in the vaulted basement, the old brick and stone now hold a spa, with a sauna built in the former coal bunker. Upstairs, The Long Room serves lunch and dinner, and tea is poured in the Drawing Room.
- The Heritage Spa Organic VOYA treatments in the brick vaults, with a herbal cocoon, a coal bunker sauna and an aroma steam room.
- The Long Room Lunch, dinner and weekend meals from local produce, with house cocktails and a wine list.
- The Drawing Room Afternoon tea with scones and loose-leaf tea, and a garden and terrace for warmer days.
