The hotel
Nubian lines in concrete.
Casa Cook El Gouna was built new for the Casa Cook brand and opened in October 2019. The MICHELIN Guide describes brutalist forms in stone-toned concrete that recall the villages of Nubia. Inside, the rooms use rattan, timber and linen, and the palette stays close to the sand outside. It takes guests from eighteen years old.
In autumn 2026 the hotel began an extensive refurbishment. Twenty-nine Deluxe Swim-Up Junior Suites came first, bringing the total to 129, the gym almost doubled in size and the spa pool was redone. Work on the older rooms is due to finish in 2027. The MICHELIN Guide named it among thirteen Key hotels in Egypt in 2026.
- Pools at the door Junior suites share a pool with a few neighbours, the new swim-up suites step straight into one, and the two-bedroom villas have their own.
- The beach club A private beach with its own pool, heated in winter, cocktails and DJ sets in the evening.
- Spa and Yoga Shala A hammam, steam room, plunge pool and two saunas, and an open-air yoga deck with aerial hammocks.

Flying to El Gouna.
Hurghada International is 42 kilometres away according to the hotel, around 40 minutes by car by our estimate. It takes scheduled flights and private jets, which must clear customs there; the small El Gouna strip is not an airport of entry.
