The hotel
An island of its own off Choeng Mon.
Koh Fahn is a small island about 300 metres off Choeng Mon Beach, in the north-east corner of Samui. Cape & Kantary Hotels opened the resort there in 2018, with twenty-two villas, each with a terrace and a pool of eight metres facing the Gulf of Thailand. The design draws on traditional Thai building, and the hotel joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World when it opened.
A narrow channel separates the island from Samui. Guests cross by boat or by truck, depending on the tide, and can walk back to Choeng Mon on the sand. In 2019 the chef David Thompson, known for Nahm, opened Long Dtai here with a menu from the Thai south. The Cape Spa, on the island, has six treatment rooms. The hotel holds one MICHELIN Key in the 2026 selection.

- Arrival Transfers run from 7 am to 11 pm, by way of the hotel's lounge on Samui and then by boat or truck, depending on the tide. Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by noon.

Getting there
Flying to Koh Samui.
Samui Airport (USM) is close to Choeng Mon, about fifteen minutes by car to the hotel's lounge by our estimate, then a short crossing to the island. Bangkok Airways flies in from both Bangkok airports and from Singapore and Hong Kong. Private jets can land at Samui with permits arranged in advance; larger aircraft use Bangkok.
