The hotel

A hillside above Yalıkavak.

Allium sits on a thirteen-acre slope above Yalıkavak, a walk from Yalıkavak Marina. It began life as Allium Villas Resort, written up in 2018 as the newest hotel in the area, and the rooms are still spread across eight villas in the garden. Every one of them faces the Aegean. The rooms run from 36 to 72 square metres, and both suite types can be turned into two bedrooms.

The interiors are wood, earth tones and handmade textiles. At the foot of the hill a pier and a private beach give straight onto the sea, which is warm enough to swim in from June to October, and a heated infinity pool looks over the bay. Bodrum town is twenty minutes away by car, and the Greek islands of Kos, Leros and Kalymnos lie off the coast.

  • The pier A pier and a private beach at the bottom of the garden, for swimming straight into the Aegean.
  • Heated infinity pool The pool looks out over the bay and is heated through the season.
  • Spa Sauna, steam room, salt room, a Turkish hammam, massage rooms and a gym.
