The hotel
Safdie, Schrager and a garden in the middle.
The hotel stands on the site of the old Boulevard Hotel, between Cuscaden Road and Orchard Boulevard. Hong Leong Holdings, City Developments and Ian Schrager's own company rebuilt it, with Moshe Safdie and the Singapore firm DP Architects on the design. Six floors of rooms sit under the 28 storeys of the Boulevard 88 residences, and the hotel is entered from Cuscaden Road, about ten minutes on foot from Orchard Road.
It opened in November 2023, the first EDITION in Southeast Asia, with interiors led by Schrager himself and Cap Atelier of Hong Kong. A courtyard garden fills the centre. Nine floors up, The Roof has a 43-metre pool whose acrylic floor opens a window onto that garden. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel its first Key, and Tanica took over the main dining room.
- The Roof A 43-metre pool with a clear acrylic oculus over the courtyard garden, and a semi-outdoor bar with regional bites.
- Punch Room A bar beside the restaurant, pouring punches made with Southeast Asian spices.
- The Spa Seven treatment rooms on the second floor, with thermal pools, saunas, steam rooms and an ice fountain.
