The hotel

Colonel Bradley's hotel, rebuilt.

The building went up in 1924 as the Bradley Park Hotel, one of the first resorts on the island's main street. Its first owner was Colonel Edward R. Bradley, whose Beach Club casino stood on the land that is now Bradley Park. For more than twenty years it drew tycoons and high rollers, and it stayed a seasonal favourite long after.

It reopened in 2020 as the sister of White Elephant Nantucket. Elkus Manfredi Architects of Boston kept the footprint and the Mediterranean Revival facade and rebuilt everything behind them. Four storeys of rooms now face a U-shaped courtyard and its pool. Some 120 works of modern and pop art hang inside, and a seven-foot white elephant by Fredrick Prescott stands at the door. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel one Key.

  • The courtyard A heated pool under palms at the centre of the hotel, with snacks and drinks brought out to the loungers during the day.
  • To the beach The ocean is less than two blocks away, and a hotel shuttle runs to the town's public beach.
  • On foot The Royal Poinciana Plaza is about ten minutes away on foot, and the historic town centre is all around.
