The hotel

Under the Eiffel dome.

The Hermitage went up between 1890 and 1896 on the rock above the harbour, a few minutes' walk from the Casino. Its architect was Marquet, and Gustave Eiffel designed the glass and steel dome over the winter garden. The Société des Bains de Mer took it over in 1928. Below the dome, the Salle Belle Époque keeps its pink marble columns and a painted ceiling by Gabriel Ferrier.

Two floors were added in 2004 for the Monte-Carlo Diamond Suites. A new round of work began in 2024: by June 2026 it had produced forty rooms and suites redesigned by Pierre-Yves Rochon's studio and Gustave, a bar under the dome by Shirine Zirak. The SBM says the next phase begins in spring 2027. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel its first Key, and both of Yannick Alléno's restaurants in the house hold stars.

  • Gustave The bar in the winter garden, under Eiffel's dome, open from noon until one in the morning, with a new terrace and live music late in the week.
  • Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo The SBM seawater spa is part of the hotel, with a large seawater pool and treatments from facials to cryotherapy.
  • The beach Guests have access to the Monte-Carlo Beach Club, with cabanas and sun loungers on the sea.
