The hotel
Gardens on Avenida San Martín.
Los Tajibos has been taking guests since the middle of the 1970s, and it has grown along with the city of Santa Cruz around it. The hotel kept its grounds as the city filled in around it: more than four hectares, at least half of them gardens, with the rooms set around lawns and a pool on Avenida San Martín.
The investment group Comversa bought it in October 2016 and spent four and a half million dollars the next year on rooms, kitchens and a new lobby by the architect Juan Carlos Menacho, under a six-metre ceiling. The hotel later joined Marriott's Tribute Portfolio, and in January 2023 the Sunset Tower opened, with the spa, a salon and a club lounge. The hotel now has 198 rooms.
