The hotel
On Muri Beach since 1987.
The first building went up on Muri Beach in 1986, and the resort welcomed its first guests in November 1987. It began with thirty-four units in two small blocks and a row of duplexes near the sand, a swimming pool, the Barefoot Bar and a little office. The group behind it won its first award in 2008 and has collected more than eighty since.
Over the next ten years came the lagoon and beachfront villas, the garden suites and garden villas, and a new pool, lobby and Sandals restaurant. The beachfront suites, facing Muri Lagoon, were added last. Today there are sixty-four rooms in all, set in tropical gardens on the south-east coast of Rarotonga, with Muri Lagoon in front. Kayaks wait on the beach for the lagoon.
- Muri Lagoon Kayaks and water sports straight from the beach, on the lagoon in front of the resort.
- Kids' club Free every day of the year for children aged six to twelve.
- Barefoot Bar The bar the resort opened with in 1987, on the beach.
