The hotel
Mandarin Oriental comes to Oman.
Mandarin Oriental opened its first hotel in Oman on 3 June 2024, on the beach at Shatti Al Qurum. The French designer Xavier Cartron did the interiors with local material: Desert Rose marble, ash wood and carved Omani doors at the entrance. Brass lanterns take their shape from the khanjar, the curved Omani dagger, and the lobby has three fountains under a chandelier of coloured crystal lanterns.
The hotel's version of the Mandarin Oriental fan is by the Omani artist Alia Al Farsi, with eleven women for the country's eleven governorates. A cocktail club takes its name, TwoThree58, from the hotel's coordinates. The project also includes 156 private residences. In 2026 readers of Condé Nast Traveller placed the hotel fourth in the Middle East, and Forbes Travel Guide gave it four stars.
- The beach A private stretch of white sand in front of the hotel, with a 30-metre pool and an infinity pool looking out over the Gulf of Oman.
- The Spa More than 1,700 square metres, with eight treatment rooms, a hammam and a ritual built on Omani damask rose.
- For children The Nadira and Friends kids' club on the promenade, with a children's pool and play area nearby.
