The hotel

The Rothschilds on Mont d'Arbois.

In 1920 Noémie de Rothschild imagined Mont d'Arbois as a winter sports resort to rival the best in the Alps. A century on, her family is still on the mountain, and Edmond de Rothschild's name is on the road up to it. Ariane de Rothschild led the creation of this hotel with the designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, and hung works from her own collection on its walls.

It opened in 2017, with pine panelling, Alpine colours and marble bathrooms with heated floors, and skis go straight from the door to the slopes. In June 2026 Atout France named it a Palace, the first in Megève and the third Four Seasons in France to hold the title. It reopens on 16 December 2026 for its ninth winter, with 55 rooms, fourteen of them suites, and a spa of about 900 square metres.

  • Ski in, ski out The slopes of Mont d'Arbois start outside, and a ski concierge handles equipment and passes.
  • The spa About 900 square metres, in a Roman style, with a heated indoor and outdoor pool and treatments by myBlend.
