The city
A fell above the Arctic Circle.
Levi rises to 531 metres above the village of Sirkka, in the municipality of Kittilä. Its forty-three runs, seventeen of them floodlit, are served by twenty-seven lifts, and the 2026–27 season opened on 2 October. Mid-November brings the World Cup slaloms, where the winner of the women's race is given a reindeer.
Last winter the resort counted a record 599,000 ski days over 220 days of skiing, and a quarter of its lift tickets were bought by visitors from abroad. A new six-seat chairlift on the South Slopes is due for the 2026–27 season. Clear nights here give good chances of the northern lights.
- The fell Runs from a 531-metre summit, with a vertical drop of 325 metres and floodlit pistes for the short days.
- The World Cup slalom An early stop on the alpine circuit each November, with a reindeer for the winner of the women's race.
- Glass igloos Glass-roofed igloos on a fell slope ten kilometres from the village, facing the open northern sky.
