The hotel
A 1961 apartment block, turned to face the walls.
The architect Mladen Frka designed the first building here in 1961, as smart apartments on the cliff at Sveti Jakov. Two years later it became an annex of the Hotel Argentina next door. The hotel was rebuilt from the ground on the same site in white concrete and glass, and reopened in the summer of 2010.
Rooms by Studio Arthur Casas look across the water to the Old Town and Lokrum, with mid-century pieces by Gio Ponti set beside furniture by Croatian designers. The suites take their names from old Dubrovnik words. The walls are a twenty-minute walk away, or a short trip in the hotel's boat.

- Villa Spa Treatments with Mediterranean herbs, lavender to relax and mint to sleep, and an indoor pool and hot tubs behind floor-to-ceiling glass.
