The hotel
From Pink Sands Club to Mandarin Oriental.
Until 2017 the resort was the Pink Sands Club. Mandarin Oriental took over the management that autumn and changed the name in early 2018, making it the group's first address in the Caribbean. The pink umbrellas around the infinity pool are a nod to the old name. On the estate stands a stone chapel that was built in England, taken apart and rebuilt here in the early nineteenth century.
The suites face Godahl Beach, inside the long barrier reef on the island's windward side. Hurricane Beryl closed the resort in 2024; it reopened on 15 November that year and now gives part of each stay's revenue to a fund for the island's schools and infrastructure. The MICHELIN Guide gives it one Key, and Forbes Travel Guide rates it at five stars for 2026.

The resort has only suites and villas. The smallest suite measures about 1,300 square feet, roughly 120 square metres.

Canouan's own airport, with a lit runway of 1,791 metres and customs, is about twelve to fifteen minutes from the resort; midsize and large private jets fly straight in. Travellers on scheduled flights connect in Barbados, about an hour away by SVG Air, or at Argyle on St Vincent, fifteen minutes away.
