The hotel

A coconut farm by the rainforest.

Bahía Beach was a coconut farm on the north-east coast, between El Yunque National Forest and the Espíritu Santo River preserve. The lobby sits in Casa Grande, a house in the old plantation style. More than two thirds of the 483 acres are kept as sanctuary, with 73 acres of lakes and trails for walking and cycling, and it is the only gold Audubon Signature Sanctuary in the Caribbean.

The resort opened as the St. Regis Bahía Beach and in October 2025 became the first hotel in Puerto Rico to receive a MICHELIN Key. After a renovation it reopened on 20 November 2025 as a Four Seasons. The design studio Meyer Davis redrew the rooms and suites, a new restaurant opened by the ocean, and existing homes on the estate joined the Four Seasons residences.

  • Location The resort is in Río Grande, east of San Juan. Dorado is on the far side of the capital, so the two are not a short drive apart.
  • Nearby El Yunque National Forest is about 9 miles away and Old San Juan about 27.

Getting there

Luis Muñoz Marín International in San Juan is about 30 minutes away by car, 40 in heavier traffic. Private jets use the same airport, where two handlers work around the clock.

One. The MICHELIN Guide gave the resort a Key in October 2025, when it was still the St. Regis Bahía Beach, the first in Puerto Rico. The guide's page still carries the old name.
