The hotel

A dream in plaster and clay.

MILAM opened in December 2023 in La Veleta, a residential district on the edge of Tulum, away from the beach road. Its name comes from the dream yoga of the tantric tradition, and the buildings follow the idea: walls curve, plaster swirls in colour, the lighting is playful and the rooms are finished in local clay with macramé. Grupo Bardo runs it.

There are 31 villas and five residences, the largest with four bedrooms. Many villas keep a solar-heated pool indoors beside the bed. Outside, a single pool runs for about 150 metres between day beds, with a swim-up bar. Guests must be 18 or over. The MICHELIN Guide gave MILAM one Key in 2025 and kept it in 2026. At the Xunáan Spa, treatments include sound healing and the temazcal, a traditional sweat lodge.

  • The long pool About 150 metres of water warmed by the sun, lined with day beds, with drinks served at the Samsara swim-up bar.
  • Xunáan Spa Treatments, yoga under a palm-thatched palapa, sound healing and the temazcal, the traditional Mexican sweat lodge.
  • Away from the strip On the edge of town, several kilometres from the beach road and its traffic.
