The hotel

On the long beach at Le Diamant.

Le Diamant is a village on Martinique's south coast, about sixteen kilometres west of Sainte-Anne, strung along one of the longest beaches on the island. Off the shore stands the Rocher du Diamant, the rock that shares its name with the village. The hotel is in the centre of the village, on rue Justin Roc, with the sand directly below.

It is a recent building with contemporary interiors, and every room has a kitchenette, which is why booking sites now list it as a résidence hôtelière. The Martinique tourist board classes it at four stars. The restaurant, La Terrasse, cooks Creole dishes in a bistro style from island produce and takes outside guests by reservation.

  • The rock Rooms on the sea side look straight out at the Rocher du Diamant, a short way off the coast.
  • Infinity pool A pool with a solarium above the beach, and a snack bar alongside for the middle of the day.
  • Bungalows on the sand Five bungalows by the water, each with its own way down to the beach.
