The hotel

The Malcolms' cottage on the pink beach.

Pink Sands began in 1951 as the Malcolm family's holiday cottage, and it was the first place to stay on the beach that gave it its name. The family's year survives in the name of the main restaurant, Malcolm 51. In 2026 the resort marks its seventy-fifth anniversary, still on Chapel Street at the edge of Dunmore Town, and listed in the MICHELIN Guide.

The grounds cover twenty acres of palms, hibiscus and jasmine, with the cottages spread through the garden and down to the sand. The beach runs for about three miles along the Atlantic side of the island, and the resort reaches straight onto it. A pool, tennis courts and a beach bar sit between the cottages and the sea. Beds are made up with Frette sheets, and a porch swing hangs in the garden.

  • Pink Sands Beach Three miles of pink sand in front of the resort, with water calm enough for swimming and snorkelling.
  • Blue Bar & Kitchen Breakfast, lunch and drinks on the beach, the resort's casual kitchen.
  • Sunrise yoga A daily class on the beach, included in the stay, and massages by the pool or in the cottage.
