The hotel
A hotel rebuilt on a spring.
A hotel has stood on this stretch of the northern shore since the 1970s. After an earthquake it was rebuilt, and the work turned up something the lake had never had: a geothermal spring. That spring now fills the baths in most of the 211 rooms, behind windows that look straight out over the water. The new hotel opened in 2008 and is the flagship of FDC International Hotels.
It celebrated its fifteenth year with a five-month renovation, finished in July 2023. The lobby gained living displays of begonias, nineteen of them native or endangered species, grown with the Ku Yen Cho-yun Plant Conservation Center. Five lake-view rooms on the fifth floor became a spa run by the Swiss house Valmont. Up on the roof, the Sky Lounge looks across the lake through 270 degrees.
- Spring water in the room Most rooms have their own bath filled from the hotel's spring, set by a window over the lake.
- THE SPA by Valmont Five former guest rooms on the fifth floor, each facing the lake, turned into treatment rooms in 2023.
- For families Indoor and outdoor pools, a playroom for children, a game room with billiards and darts, and babysitting on request.
