The hotel
Seventy baths in Gora.
ORIX Real Estate opened Hakone Gora Karaku on 2 October 2020, ten weeks after the Tozan railway up to Gora had resumed service that July. The hotel spreads over several buildings: a main building, an annex, a guest lounge and two wings of rooms, forty-five in the West wing and twenty-five in the East. A lobby lounge and a separate guest lounge give space outside the rooms.
Every room has its own open-air bath filled from the hot spring, whether laid out with tatami or with Western beds. Interiors keep to muted colours. In the main building, a larger hot spring bath looks out over the hills, and the annex holds private baths and the spa. The MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel one Key and lists a sauna beside the shared baths.
- A bath of your own All seventy rooms have a private open-air bath on the spring, so there is no need to share.
- Two dining rooms Kaiseki with seasonal produce at Mutsuki, and meat, seafood and vegetables on the iron plate at Tomura.
- Guest lounge Drinks and small plates at set hours, for hotel guests.
