The hotel

A hotel at the top of the tower.

Rosewood Phnom Penh opened on 12 February 2018 in the upper fourteen floors of Vattanac Capital Tower, a 39-storey building by the British practice Farrells. At 188 metres it was the tallest building in the capital when the hotel opened, and the rooms look out over a city of low roofs, with the river on one side. It was the brand's first urban hotel in Southeast Asia, and its 175 rooms begin some twenty-five floors above the street.

Inside, BAR Studio of Melbourne did the rooms and public spaces, and Bond Design Studio of Tokyo the restaurants and bars, spread over levels 35 to 38. The Sense spa builds its treatments on old Cambodian remedies, the Lost Remedies, made with local plants and herbs. At street level the Royal Palace, the National Museum and the Central Market are all a short ride away.

  • Sora A bar on a cantilevered terrace on level 37, with cocktails, Japanese snacks and the city spread below from 5 pm.
  • Level 33 A 22-metre indoor lap pool, the gym and the seven treatment rooms of Sense, A Rosewood Spa.
  • Cuts The highest restaurant in the hotel, on level 38, for steak and seafood, with private Dining Suites for eight to sixteen guests.
