The hotel
A house party, villa by villa.
The Royal Villas stands on a secure estate in the Ezulwini Valley, about ten minutes from Mbabane, with the Lugogo and Royal Mdzimba mountains in view. The rooms are spread through the villas. Most share a villa's own dining room, lounge and outdoor seating, so a group can take a whole house, with a cook and a waiter to look after it.
It began as a place for companies, boards and conferences, and the halls still take up to 250 people. Families and wedding parties came later. Lihawu, the main restaurant, opens to outside guests too, and the Sivuno cellar can hold about a thousand wines. The royal kraal at Lobamba lies further down the same valley.
