The hotel
A house built for parliament.
The building began as a Maison des députés, a gift from China to house members of the National Assembly during parliamentary sessions in Yamoussoukro. The government later turned it into a hotel, run by the tourism company Sodertour-Lacs, and in February 2015 it took the name HP Resort, because many people still believed it was kept for deputies.
It stands on an estate of eight hectares, away from the centre of the city. In 2023, ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, the state carried out a renovation costing 3.7 billion CFA francs, covering the structure, the lifts, the air conditioning, the rooms and suites, the restaurants and the public areas.
