The hotel
The Palace on Praia das Dunas.
Riu opened the Palace in November 2018 as its third hotel in Cape Verde, under the Riu Palace name, on a 24-hour all-inclusive plan. The design is modern and light: soft colours, a mosaic at the head of each bed, gold and silver touches in the lobby, and bathrooms with large walk-in showers.
The hotel opens straight onto Praia das Dunas, a beach of about four kilometres on the coast of Boa Vista. Inland the island turns to dunes and the Viana desert. Guests share the Splash Water World park with those of the Riu Karamboa. The spa, the kids' club and the Pachá nightclub are all within the hotel.
