The city
Beaches, a waterfall and a new port.
Kribi is one of the two seaside towns on the Cameroon coast that foreign visitors seek out, Limbe being the other. It lives from fishing and, since 2018, from the country's first deep-water port. Seven kilometres south, the Lobé drops twenty metres across a front about a kilometre wide and runs straight into the Atlantic.
No hotel in Kribi has a published four- or five-star rating yet; the state hotel company announced in May 2026 that it is planning a five-star beach resort at Idolo, near the town. Come in December or January: the days are 31 °C, rain is light and the sea is at 28 °C. By September and October the rain passes 450 mm a month.
- Lobé Falls A river dropping straight into the Atlantic, seven kilometres south of town.
- Campo Ma'an National Park Over 2,600 km² on the coast to the south, home to forest elephants, gorillas, mandrills and some three hundred kinds of bird.
- Deep-water port The country's first, opened in 2018 with fifteen metres of water at the quay.
Arriving
By jet to Douala, then by road.
Kribi's airstrip, ten kilometres south-east of the town, is an unpaved runway for light aircraft, with no scheduled flights. Jets land at Douala, 150 kilometres up the coast by road, or at Yaoundé Nsimalen, about 200 kilometres away.

December to January.
Hot and humid all year, highs of 28 to 32 °C. December and January are the driest months, with about 80 mm; the heaviest rain falls in September and October, close to 500 mm a month.
