The hotel
Three rivers from the window.
Shangri-La Phnom Penh took its first guests on 28 December 2024, the group's first hotel in Cambodia. It fills part of a three-tower complex on Koh Pich, the island on the Bassac just south of the old centre, and the towers rise to about 228 metres, among the tallest in the capital. The restaurants, the pool and the spa followed in stages after the first phase.
The rooms mix Art Deco and Neo-Classical lines with Khmer detail, warm wood and natural stone. Every one has floor-to-ceiling glass, and many face the water where the Mekong, the Tonle Sap and the Tonle Bassac meet. One of the largest ballrooms in the city is downstairs, built for weddings and conferences; the infinity pool and the Altitude bar are up top.
- Altitude An open-air rooftop bar for cocktails, light plates and the sunset over the rivers.
- The infinity pool High above the city, with the Mekong below it.
- Kommune Khmer cooking from local produce, from beef lok lak to fish amok.
