The hotel
One cove, thirty-two villas.
Hermitage Bay fills a single cove on the west coast of Antigua, near Jennings. The villa suites are freestanding and built of wood, some raised on stilts at the edge of the sand, others climbing the hillside for the view across the bay. Around them lie 140 acres of tropical gardens, and an organic garden fed with compost from the kitchen supplies the restaurant.
The resort reopened on 1 November 2024 after a renovation of several million dollars under its owner, Daniel Shamoon. Every villa was redone, and the spa on the beach was rebuilt with open-air treatment rooms. The MICHELIN Guide gives the resort two Keys and notes the Ubuntu philosophy behind it. Executive chef Desroy Spence runs The Restaurant, on a deck above the beach.
- A pool of your own Every villa has a private pool or a hot tub, and the garden suites gained their own pools in the renovation.
- From the garden The organic garden runs on compost from the kitchen, and its produce goes back to the table.
- La Petite Maison In December and January the Nice restaurant takes over the beach club for lunch, open to guests and to visitors arriving by boat.
