The hotel
A family house on Plaza Güemes.
Solar de la Plaza was the home of a traditional Salta family before it became a hotel. The house is neo-colonial, in the Spanish manner, with an inner courtyard, and stands opposite Plaza Güemes, five blocks from Plaza 9 de Julio and the Cathedral. It is listed by Great Small Hotels and stays open all year, with meeting rooms for up to sixty people.
Four rooms remain in the original house, with wooden floors and antique furniture. A newer wing holds the other twenty-six. Breakfast is served in a room looking onto the courtyard, dinner at The Terrace over the winter garden, and on the roof a small pool and sun terrace look out across the city. A sauna, a whirlpool and a small gym complete the house.
- Rooftop pool A small pool and terrace on the roof, with a view over the city.
- The Terrace The restaurant overlooks the winter garden and cooks both international and regional dishes.
- Walking distance Plaza 9 de Julio, the Cathedral and the museums of the old town are about five blocks away.
