The hotel
Two mansions in the Eixample.
Palau de la Mar is made of two town mansions from the late nineteenth century on Avenida Navarro Reverter, in the Eixample just outside the old town. Many original elements survive: a stained-glass skylight brings daylight down into the house, and a loggia staircase climbs beside a carved wooden banister. Behind the street front lie courtyard gardens, and the rooms that face them are the calmest.
Hospes turned the houses into a hotel, with interiors by the designer Tomás Alía, and the whole building was renovated again in 2025. Ampar, the restaurant, cooks with produce from the huerta around the city and fish from the coast. The Bodyna spa spreads over two floors, with a sauna, a steam bath and a hydrotherapy lap pool fed by two small waterfalls.
- Bodyna spa Treatment rooms over the courtyard gardens, a sauna, a steam bath, a small gym and a hydrotherapy pool.
- Ampar Valencian rice dishes and paella, with vegetables from the huerta and fish from the coast.
- Courtyards Gardens inside the block, away from the avenue.
