The hotel
Rajputana craft on the Amber road.
The Leela Palace Jaipur took its present name on 23 February 2021, when a refurbished resort on the Delhi road joined The Leela group. The building borrows from the city's old palaces. Craftsmen laid thikri mirror work and mirror inlay, painted the walls in the Shekhawati manner and covered the domes in silver foil. Behind it all rise the Aravalli hills.
The estate covers nine acres of gardens and walkways, close to Amber Fort and about eighteen kilometres from the Hawa Mahal. Some of the villas have plunge pools of their own. The hotel can arrange visits to the Rajasthan Polo Club, cycle tours and balloon flights over the countryside. The MICHELIN Guide has given it two Keys in both of its Indian selections.
- Jamavar A dining room modelled on the Sheesh Mahal, set with some 350,000 hand-cut thikri mirrors and gold leaf, with live music at dinner.
- The Maharaja Suite Two terraces, a private pool and a dining room that seats eight.
- Days out Visits to the Rajasthan Polo Club, cycle tours of the grounds and hot air balloon flights, arranged by the hotel.
